Envisioning Your Future – Vision boards 2.0

Vision boards were really popular and hit their peak in the 80s & 90s. They remain a helpful visualization tool even in the ubiquitous digital age. At women’s group gatherings, I often joke that the vision board is not just a thick piece of paper with some nice sounding phrases, and colorful images that live in “someday” land. Giving attention to what you want, and creating momentum in your life by aligning to your highest good, higher self, and soul – while paying attention to the next steps along your path is also important. Developing your awareness, honing your intuition, and paying attention to the signs and messages that show up for you toward realizing your intentions and dreams is just as powerful. The vision board becomes familiar and a reminder and helps you bridge from where you are, to what you are attracting.

Vision boards are a powerful visualization tool that integrates both hemispheres of the brain. Standard goal setting is a predominately left brain activity. Blending creativity, intent, and inspiration for action provides a positive launching point for attraction. You are stimulating your emotions, new desires, and aligning to possibilities throughout this process.

During the “envisioning your life” vision board theme in my groups, we clip and snip images, pictures, words, and phrases out of magazines that resonate with our intentions, and embrace opportunities for our imagined future. We find images that depict our dreams, invoke feelings, and capture our senses, and note what inspires us. Inspiration leads to excitement. Through this activity of following what inspires us, and drawing from a variety of images, and phrases we also focus on infusing appreciation energy with envisioning where we would like to create, shift, or attract positive change in our lives.

Appreciation is one of the highest vibrational states available to you. Merging appreciation with building an old school dream boards offers a magnetic match, and platform for your visions, and intentions. However, your dreams and intention work does not end with pasting images and inspirational quotes onto poster boards, or in a dream notebook. Merging the traditional vision board with the digital age, and accessing all the cool techy tools available enhances the envisioning experience, and brings it to a whole other integration level.

In the digital age of information, there are plentiful opportunities to create digitally based vision, and dream boards. If you create one online, you can save it for your screensaver on computer, or mobile device, so it is repeatedly in your “view” and becomes familiar so that new reality is activated in your mind.

There is abundance of free vision board apps, and free programs available. See the links below for links and ideas. There’s also an app called “Intention” and one that’s called “Intend” that’s easy to navigate and use. They both have alarm reminders for your intentions!

As you gather and organize images, photos, phrases, and dream board ideas – practice the feeling of appreciation for what you already have materialized in your life, and what you are thankful and grateful for. Continue to add to your vision board throughout the year. Place your vision board somewhere visible where you walk by each day or post it in your car if you are spending much time there. Place it where ever it will become top of consciousness, and use your vision board for a visualization tool to help imagine your way to your ideal life. Be creative, envision big, and follow your excitement, and live your inspired dream!

 

The Vibe of Appreciation

Appreciation is one of the highest frequencies available to attract your desired life. When you are in an appreciative state, you are full of gratitude for what you already have in your life, and you open yourself up to receive. Appreciation is in the same vibrational family as love, bliss, empowerment, and joy. The word appreciate means to “recognize the full worth of and be grateful for.” You are not emanating lack with appreciation, but rather broadcasting wholeness, and fullness.

Magnetizing your dreams from a high vibrational state of appreciation is a fantastic tool for being in resonance with what you desire.  Appreciation is a feeling state that assists you with being grateful now, and raises your vibration in the present moment. When setting intentions in this appreciative state, it provides an energetic launchpad to your dreams already in motion.

Abraham-Hicks from their Ask and It’s Given book, on page 114, includes a list of “The Emotional Guidance Scale” to help clarify, and define where you may range with your emotions with respect to alignment, and how those emotions on the scale show up vibrationally in the non-physical realm.

Where we are asking from in terms of our emotional state influences our point of attraction, whether we are in a state of appreciation, bliss, joy, love, and empowerment, or if we are feeling despair, depressed, or anger. Your emotional state is another area to be conscious of when declaring your intentions whether verbally or in thought. Staying in a positive upward stream offers momentum for what we desire, create, and attract in our lives. Using this Emotional Guidance Scale, one approach is to choose the next best emotional state you can from where you are currently at.

Recognizing where you are at, feeling that state, moving through it in your own time, getting help from others, and professionals as needed, and having awareness of how you are experiencing the varied emotions within the scale can be helpful in shifting out of feeling stuck, paralyzed, or where you may feel resistance. You have your preferred emotional states, and interpretations for what each emotional state means for you. The goal is to raise your vibration by feeling good to become a more resonant match to what you desire.

Here is a simple exercise to help create the vibe of appreciation. On one side of a sheet of paper, begin with, “I am appreciating” or “I appreciate” — for what you are appreciating in your life generally, and with textured, multi-sensory details. For the other side of your paper, list what you appreciate about yourself. Appreciating yourself is another version of self-love. Appreciate yourself for not just for who you are, and what you do, but for also what you have overcome, faced, survived, lived through, and experienced. For your progress, improvements, and development on all those levels you consciously give attention to. Also acknowledge who you are on a broader lever, your unique essence, and appreciate the infinite beauty in that. What does truly appreciating yourself look like? In what ways do you appreciate yourself? How can you express that to your self in a way that is authentic for you? What does it feel like? Bring in all your senses and tap into that appreciative state.

How do you show you are appreciative?

When you are appreciative, how do you feel? What do you feel?

When you are appreciated by others, what do you feel within?

Throughout the month, give mindful focus to what you are already appreciative of, and to your answers to the questions above. Embody the feeling of appreciation, focus, and direct your intentions from this space. Consider viewing appreciation as a tool for you to come from an abundant “whole” and pure place, and not from lack with your intentions. It’s helpful, and effective when asking for what you want, to ask from this energetic place of appreciation where you are in alignment with all that is possible, and available to you from the universal palate of possibilities.

So as you embrace the new year, clarify your intentions, and envision your ideal life, consider accessing a state of appreciation. By feeling appreciative, and expressing appreciation as a method to connect to, and magnetize your intentions, you’ll align to a higher vibrational state. Be the the vibe of appreciation!
