Be empowered, hold your vision ~ Justice for all

As I observe social media political posts, what’s evident is the narrative and direction needs to shift – if true progressive change is desired. It’s normal to navigate through the challenging times with a range of emotions – but please do not allow all of this to paralyze you into inaction. Some are spun out in fear, and are overwhelmed. Some scan headlines without fact-checking sources, and spin out of the present into fearful future projection into blame, what if’s, full-on despair, and panic. Others have joined together in solidarity, combining forces for causes and issues, promoting diversity, standing up for humanity, writing letters, and making phone calls. So many empowered beings are rising up who will not be silenced, or censored. These actions are inspiring, more powerful, and energizing. This will lead to a true uprising of the people, and a massive shift of what we will tolerate, allow, and accept. Together we move forward with one step at a time.

time-to-rise-up

My purpose, passion, and work in the world centers around empowerment, connection to your authentic self and truth, attracting what you want through intention, inspiration, inspired action, and being in flow and alignment with your heart. This whole “resist” movement does not resonate with me. Pushing against what you don’t want is not effective. This brings more of what you don’t want your way. Resisting puts you on the defensive. Push toward, and promote what you want. While I understand the meaning behind the resist movement, it feels counterproductive in an energetic sense.

Instead, be persistent and consistent.

Be proactive in creating the change you seek.

Be an activist for the causes and issues you support and believe in.

Flow towards what’s calling for your attention to heal, transform, and shift.

Show up from a place of love, empowerment, not fear and disempowerment, or fear-based reactions.

Start within to create the outer change in the world you desire.

Seek uplifting, inspiring, and empowering information to help propel you forward.

When you feel enraged, ENGAGE.

When you want to resist, PERSIST.

When you resist, you are fighting against something. Being against it – is pushing against it, and allowing it to continue. Stop fighting against everything. This resistance creates more resistance, more tension, more push back, more fighting, more division, and offers you a defensive position.

Rise up. Stand up. Stand together. Band together in unity for truth, for justice for all. Equal rights for all. For all of humanity.

No walls. No division. Envision the future where you build healing bridges between differences and where your voice is heard. A collective vision to unite for one another, our rights, our bodies, our personal freedom, our environment, and our Earth.

It’s time to revolt for positive change, and desired outcomes. This revolution is long overdue. We are greater than fear-based systems, greed-driven old paradigms that are antiquated and outdated, that do not represent all of humanity, or protect our environment, for the greater good.

No one has power over you, your thoughts, your emotions, or your body unless you give it. No president, leader, or administration is going to “save” anyone or prevent anyone from accessing their truth. You are stronger than allowing anyone, or any one president take your strength, hope, power, and vision away. This, or any other time, is not the time to be a victim, and powerless. This corrupt political joke of a system wants us to be divided in fear. We have the power. You hold the power. We are the present and future. They are the past. Hold this administration, and our representatives accountable. Remember, they work for us. And at the end of the day, you answer to yourself, your family, your values, and your heart.

Yes, I am concerned. Don’t misinterpret my position as being in support of this government, or the proposed policies, or executive orders that discriminate, criminalize, or further oppress. I’m suggesting we approach it differently, and shift to a more positive narrative, of what you would like, instead of this constant negative stream of what you don’t.

Stay present, awake, conscious, educated, and informed.
Build community, volunteer, and help others.
Stop blaming, and take responsibility for your part in creating this.
Move the conversation forward, and vibrationally upward.
Take action.

If you want to march, and make signs, march for the positive, not anti- this or that, or anti-whoever. Use it as a way to create awareness, not divide or fight against.

Create a self-empowerment strategy; one that includes your voice, self-love, and compassion for self and others.

Use your voice to call out the corruption, deception, Fascism, censorship, corporate-owned media manipulation, — regardless of party affiliation because much of what is occurring now did not just begin a week or two ago.

Create an action plan where you are energetically in alignment with who you are, your values, and your heart.

Together let’s be:
Empowered
Strategic
Creative
Energized
Conscious
Awake
Active
Engaged

And approach with love, compassion, truth, and authenticity as if your life depends on it.

Raise the vibration and collective conscious from a heart-driven place, instead of reactionary fear.

Truly hold the vision for well-being, and for justice for all.

It’s JUST US who we can count on, after all.

Together we stand, together we rise.

This is our land,
where we band together,
where we stand together,
in unity, peace, with hands together.
Where we rise together,
thrive together,
to break this illusion,
dissolve fear and delusion,
to steer action and revolution.

The time is now,
for only you will allow,
the vision you hold,
and what you vow.

Drop your fear,
and calm your fright.
Engage your heart,
without the fight.
Bring your light,
with all your might.
Together we rise,
standing bright.

Holding your vision all year long

Let’s welcome 2017 and embrace possibilities! Another milestone, and another year to create long lasting changes, and magical shifts in your life. Dreaming, and attracting what you would like to create into witnessing its evidence when it comes to fruition isn’t just for New Year resolutions.

Envisioning your dreams, focusing on your intentions, and taking inspired action to create a better reality and life, is not just limited to resolutions or “setting your intentions” at the beginning of the year. Progress and momentum happens with all the small steps you take in each moment, becoming aligned with what you desire, and deciding where to focus your attention, intention, and energy. It takes clarity, choice, intention, deliberate focus, attention, and vision — all year long! Holding your vision throughout the little moments that are embedded in each day, the week, month, and year is where the practice begins. Holding your vision, and returning to what you really want wherever you can, offers consistency, creates new neural pathways in your brain, builds positive habits, and sparks momentum.

intentionhabit

Envisioning your ideal life using each moment to bring what you desire. An element, a piece, an aspect of the vision you hold dear to you heart. Create habits by integrating daily, weekly, and monthly rituals, or ceremonies. (Check out my previous post on “Creating a Spiritual Practice” to learn more: https://intentiongroups.com/2016/01/28/creating-a-spiritual-practice-intention-wellness-ritual/

Let’s not forget to add commitment. Decide in this moment, right now, that you will commit to yourself, and your dream fulfillment journey. How will 2017 unfold for you? However you desire. What will you bring to 2017, and allow to magnetize your way?

Contemplating 2017…

What do you desire to attract into your life, shift, improve, change, or release?

What’s calling for you to learn? Resolve? Be fulfilled?

Who would you like to surround yourself with this year? What types of people? What qualities do they hold and express?

What qualities would you enjoy embodying?

What experiences would enrich or improve your life?

What opportunities can you offer yourself that would provide personal growth?

How can you help others this year?

What issues are important for you to advocate for?

Remember that throughout the year, you always have an opportunity to course correct. In each moment, you can pause, stop, and reset, to bring the vision and energy of what you prefer, instead of what is dragging you along, or down. Check in with yourself – your inner self, your heart. Ask in each moment what you need. What does your heart need? Decide on the direction you need to go based on how you feel. As what you desire flows your way, if it is indeed what you intended, and held your vision for, continue in that direction. If not, like any wise ship’s captain, if you’re not headed where you want to go, change course, and correct your navigation. With intentions, your inner navigation provides the best guidance. Focus on building, creating, and improving your new life in this new year; one moment at a time. From one inner nudge to the next.

Reflecting & Propelling Forward

The end of the year, and the end of each month offers an opportunity to go within, reflect, and contemplate your growth. Take inventory of your successes, your progress, and observe where you could have improved. What did you learn about yourself this year? What did you learn from others? About your perceived limits, or where you surpassed your expectations, and doubts? What strengths were illuminated or showcased? What intentions received focus, and how does that relate to what showed up this year? Where can you grow from this new perspective?

yellowstone-national-park-1581879_1280

As you reflect, question, and take inventory of 2016, remember to be gentle with yourself as insights reveal. Remember to also appreciate yourself for everything you have accomplished, from the small and subtle shifts, and gifts, to the brighter, and more grandiose moments of discovery. Use your mistakes, lessons, and where you may feel you fell short, to serve as a catalyst for your personal growth. Use all of this as a continued reminder that it’s ok to be a work in progress as you hone, develop, and refine who you are. Use your past experiences, and current insights to propel your future decisions, choices, and your ever evolving, and unfolding path, and self. Make a commitment to yourself to have compassion for where you are, what you have overcome, and become. Practice self-love. Embody the confidence that you are able to create your visions for your incredible future from each moment starting from right now.

As I reflect on this past year, I am tempted to not give myself credit or acknowledge what I have created, and magnetized. At first, I found myself being hard on myself for not creating more, or completing the projects and books that I had hoped to finish. Focusing on what I have manifested, and being kinder to myself serves me much better! The truth is I am a visionary spirit with an abundance of ideas, and energy, sitting on a palate of possibilities ready to unfurl my creative rockets. Another truth: when I am inspired, and work from this heart-centered place, I am in a much better creative flow zone, and more productive. Moving forward on my path is happening step by step, even if the steps are tiny some days, weeks, and months.

waterfall-984180_1280

I am also working part-time, and manage a family with two children. If I cloned myself 3x, and had a personal assistant, I’m not certain I would have fulfilled my high expectations for this year given how much I want to positively impact, and inspire others!

However, my authentic self recognizes that this past year was productive, and I did create movement, and continued to move forward with building my intention work business, and I am exactly where I need to be – even when I feel frustrated that everything I set out to do is not quite done yet :)! I’m wired to be driven, yet need to also have self-compassion that I am doing my very best, and honor all my efforts.

To highlight a few accomplishments in 2016, I started three new in-person intention groups, wrapped up one group that met for a year, began a second year cycle for another group, and developed a 60 page intention workbook that outlines the first year cycle, and another 40 page workbook for the second year cycle. The groups continue to gain traction, and with connections and referrals, another intention group is forming to begin in January 2017, and a Healer’s Circle is in progress. I also hosted two successful and well attended Healing Arts Networking Events this year. Lastly, I adapted the intention group themes and created a self-study, beginner e-course series, “Awaken & Magnetize Your Intentions” with an option for intention mentorship and coaching that will launch in January 2017.

This past year has enabled me to marinate and brew fresh ideas, collaborate on upcoming projects, and be thoughtful of what offerings would benefit the community I serve the most. Stepping out in a grander way, and stepping more into this intention work and path more fully has magnetized in ways I had not anticipated. Below are just some business projects I am working on. Would love to hear from you if you’re interested in collaborating, or are interested in helping me spread the word!

For those of you who are not familiar with the groups I guide, for the last seven years, I have facilitated several women’s intention groups on a small island in the Pacific Northwest. I’m also offering private coaching both in-person, and remotely. Currently, I lead four active intention groups, with a few “retired” groups.

What’s new & upcoming?

  • An “Awaken & Magnetize Your Intentions” e-course for participants out of the area, or who prefer self-study with support. (The first e-course will include 6 modules based on themes, some audio/video, downloadable worksheets, an option for coaching sessions and other add-on’s, and access to an online community).
  • A new Facebook “Author, Intention Facilitator, and Intention Coach” page dedicated to my business endeavors. Find the link here: https://www.facebook.com/Melissa-Curtin-Author-Intention-Group-Facilitator-Intention-Coach-1745817732372624/
  • Launching soon! A podcast related to intention, transformation, interviews, and more. Ideas welcome on a title!!
  • “Awakening Wisdom” book (Using my “aortic dissection/aneurysm and open-heart emergency” as the foundation for a self-help book on using wake up calls for transformation, growth & opportunity)
  • “Awakening Stories to Uplift, Inspire, and Heal” book (A compilation of those who have also experienced major wake up calls, and how they have used their situation to heal, transform, and grow). Working title.
  • Plans to partner with like-minded personal development & wellness oriented friends to create other classes, workshops, retreats, etc.
  • Private intention coaching sessions
Over the last few years, I’ve had the honor and pleasure to step more into coaching and consulting for artists, healers, small businesses, and writers. It is very important to me for women to not only pursue their dreams, and intentions, but to fulfill them. Living an authentic life, and combining passion with innate skills, and talents can be achieved. (My work is also not limited to just women and intention work).

Expansion and Growth

I’ve been a little quiet on the blog front, so I hope you didn’t miss me too much :). Thank you for being patient. More regular posts to come! Lots of projects marinating, with new endeavors taking root, and moving ahead. When I set my own intentions, one area of focus was to expand my business and offerings. In my next blog post, I will elaborate more on what’s brewing on my end. Stay tuned!

Contemplating my own expansion emerged a new intention theme of Expansion and Growth. This theme was inspired by, and created for the Business Intention and Goals’ Group (BIGG) I facilitate.   imagesExpansion is…opening UP to possibilities. Opening TO possibilities. Possibilities lead to expansion; not just for your business, but for yourself on a personal spiritual development level.

What does expansion mean to you personally? On a business/ career front? Or applied to other areas? Here’s what comes to mind for me. Maybe some will resonate with you.

Opening up to possibilities

Tapping into your full potential

Stepping up/ Stepping out

Spreading wings

Expanding beyond the horse blinders

Surrendering to the unknown, but also to the excitement of what’s to come

More options for what’s possible

Casting a wider net

Reaching more people

Having a greater impact

Serving more

More visibility

Being seen/ heard

Dreams fulfilled

Living without limits

Freedom to explore more of yourself

Part of Merriam-Webster’s dictionary definition of expansion includes: economic expansion, and expansion of the universe.

Dictionary.com’s definition: expansion occurs “usually due to heating” – for our purposes, we could think in terms of “passion” or “fire under our asses” and “what are you cooking up?” or “what are you fired up to do?”

Expansion Synonyms – grow, expand, swell, outgrow, mature, double. From the Latin name that means “spreading out.”

When you think of things that are expansive, what comes to mind? For me, it’s nature; the sky, water, trees, and spaciousness; space (outer space), the horizon, and consciousness.

EXPANSION also means risk; being willing to risk more, being more vulnerable to fully embody who you are, and who you are becoming. Being willing to explore more of you, more skills/talents, and open up to new experiences and opportunities – as you are ready and willing to do so.

When you’re expanding you are…

Stretching beyond where you were before

Out of comfort zone, stretching and expanding your comfort zone

Out of box (self-placed)

Moving through obstacles, blocks, fears, hurdles, limits – beyond what is possible – dreaming in an expansive way.

images-3       images-4

There are lots of catalysts and tools for expansion and growth. Mind Maps are one way of showing potential possibilities. Read my previous blog post on Mind Maps:  https://intentiongroups.com/2015/07/01/mind-mapping-intentions/

When you are in this expansive and growth mindset, share out loud or write down your excitement for the ways in which you desire to expand personally, professionally, and spiritually. Let your imagination and possibilities extend beyond your comfort zone, current reality, and perceived limits. This is a helpful tool to feel energized and embody the feelings you desire to create from bringing in an element of fun, and excitement for what’s to come. Approaching your intentions from an expansion and growth launching zone is empowering and helpful to broaden your perspective.

Exercise #1: Verbally share outloud to yourself, or to a trusted friend/partner, or write down your responses

My business is…

My dreams are expanding in ways I hadn’t imagined…

Growth is apparent by what I am experiencing…I love how…It is remarkable how…

I am attracting perfect clients…

My financial health is flourishing, and increasing…

My intention surrounding this area is growing, and positively expanding in these ways…

Exercise #2: What are a few ways you can expand your business and/or yourself from a personal development or personal improvement, and wellness approach? Where can you step your toe into the greater pond of possibilities? Where can you go deeper, broader, and bigger?

Are you allowing yourself, and your business to expand beyond its current borders? If so, are you experiencing growing pains from stretching yourself? Many of us have “stretch marks” from these growing pains :). Is there an area where you feel timid, uneasy, hesitant, fearful, or stuck? Observe, spend some time working through the belief, or feeling that may be limiting you, and steer through with ease, honesty, and gentleness.

Use where you imagine yourself going as your North Star, your compass, and allow it to navigate and direct your way to expansion that serves you, your purpose and a fulfilling life!images-1

Labyrinths: The Path to Intention

If you’re like many kindred spirits I know, your life’s path is probably not a direct bee line from point A to point B much of the time. Surprises abound, and unforeseen opportunities arise for your growth, learning, and personal development sculpting. Life’s path may be full of twists and turns, curves,  and curve balls, and it may be quite winding, confusing, and tedious at times. Thankfully, life is also peppered with joy, laser focused moments of clarity, gracious gifts, sprinkled with understanding, ease, flow and harmony!

Cross cultural symbols throughout the ages reflect and mirror such a colorfully pebbled path in fascinating ways across diverse mediums and formats. Labyrinths have been found throughout the world across cultures and regions. Using labyrinths to connect the intention process, and the magically unfolding path life presents, creates a beautiful and metaphorically abundant theme for the intention groups. This theme leads to profound conversations of self discovery.

images-3

“The labyrinth doesn’t ask: Are you going the right way or the wrong way? The labyrinth asks, “Are you going?”

What is a Labyrinth?

images-6 fd7356e8203fa3e1a239edc4b7b8142c  600px-Labyrinth_1_(from_Nordisk_familjebok).svg[1]

“A labyrinth is an ancient symbol that relates to wholeness. It combines the imagery of the circle and the spiral into a meandering, but purposeful path. It represents a journey to our own center and back again out into the world. Labyrinths have long been used as meditation and prayer tools.”

“A labyrinth is an ancient, sacred, archetypal pattern that has been found throughout the world in many forms and sizes. Labyrinths have a single path to and from the centre. Labyrinths are one of the few archetypal patterns that we can physically interact with.  Labyrinths are enjoying a resurgence in popularity as tools for meditation and healing. The process of walking the labyrinth helps many people become more centered and balanced.

Labyrinths are different from mazes. Labyrinths are unicursal, which means that they have one well-defined path that leads us into the center and back out again. There are no dead ends or paths that divide. A maze on the other hand is a puzzle to be solved: a left brain task that requires an active mind, logic, analytical skills, and problem solving abilities. A labyrinth is a right brain task involving intuition imagery and creativity.  With a labyrinth there is only one choice: the choice to enter or not.”

http://www.labyrinthireland.com/labyrinfo.html

From the book: The Way of the Labyrinth: A Powerful Meditation for Everyday Life by Helen Curry

“Unlike mazes, which force choices and can create fear and confusion, labyrinths are designed to “embrace” and guide individuals through a calming, meditative walk on a single circular path.”

In my intention groups, I discuss the different purposes of labyrinths, and the assorted types that are accessible and available, from finger labyrinths, indoor and outdoor labyrinths, as well as digital and virtual ones. We shared how there are labyrinths represented in nature from tree rings to finger prints, even unexplained crop circles. Here’s a link for a printable finger labyrinth, and other resources on where to find local labyrinths: https://labyrinthsociety.org/download-a-labyrinth

What’s the connection between intention and labyrinths? Everything. It’s both a metaphor for our lives, and a literal representation for how we choose to walk into, and walk through our intentions, and life. Before one embarks on a path of intention, or the process of setting intentions, you pause to reflect on your focus of desire both in general, and specifically for each intention or vision. So before stepping into, and onto a labyrinth path, it is common to set an intention for your experience for traveling the labyrinth. It is also recommended to bring in your specific intention/s and create awareness, focus, and attention on them.

There are multiple layers here to explore for intentions:

  • You can set an intention for your labyrinth walk before your way in. It can even be a feeling you would like to embody.
  • Set an intention for insight to be revealed during your labyrinth walk related to your intentions and dreams, or in general.
  • Focus on an intention in progress, and hold what you are manifesting.
  • Allow for insight, so you can provide an opening for inspiration. As inspiration reveals itself, consider where you can take an inspired action step towards your intentions or goals? Surrender and allow for new perspectives, and insights to emerge.
  • Allow for the space for what’s coming up around your intention/s, and in general? Check in with yourself mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
  • Walking a labyrinth is a helpful spiritual practice for embracing sacred space, and connecting with your higher self, Soul, and heart.

Consider the walls of the labyrinth, your life, and your intentions. Where do you find yourself putting up walls, creating blockades, and adding chaos, where there are walkways, hallways, and a clear, direct path to travel? Have you halted yourself, and procrastinated movement, and taking steps towards your intentions and dreams?

images-5

“Power of the first step, of a project – usually sets in motion a surprising dynamic where doors open, kindred spirits align and the universe has been waiting for this step.” First step is magic of the beginning.

I loved how one writer from the Labyrinth Ireland website mentioned why people walk the labyrinth: “For balance; to centre themselves; to increase their awareness; to connect to their higher selves; to balance their chakras, for grounding, and to bring peace. It is usually helpful to have an intention before you walk the labyrinth.  Your intention can be looking for an answer to a question, or just seeking a way to find balance or improvement in some area of your life. The experience of walking the labyrinth is different for everyone, and different each time you walk one.

There is no right or wrong way to walk a labyrinth.  Do whatever feels right for you.  Many people divide the walk into three parts, or the three ‘R’s: Releasing, Receiving, and Returning.  On the walk in focus on releasing whatever is on your mind: your tensions and worries or whatever is occupying your thoughts.  When you reach the centre rest and allow whatever thoughts or answers come to you.  On the walk out focus on returning to your everyday life with the wisdom that you have received.”

http://www.labyrinthireland.com/labyrinfo.html

There are three main phases of a labyrinth walk: Entering in, the walk, exiting out

When you first walk in, is there any resistance present? While you are walking through, do you wish it was another way? Are you distracted or disconnected? Do you experience any self-doubt or limits? Are you rushing the outcome, and anxious for the center or the end? Do you wish it was different? If so, how? Where can you make a connection, or comparison in how you show up as you approach your intentions, your life, and common situations, etc.?

“Labyrinth is a symbol of the turnaround, a change of heart. Twists and turns of a path, and a complete turnaround in the center. On the path to find your center, twists, and turns, like our lives take.”

The Walk

Look for the active metaphors, and insights that come through as you meander through the labyrinth. Observe how you walk through the labyrinth: quickly, slowly, with concentration on your body, your feet, your heart, and your breath, no concentration at all, or a mixture. Tap into, and engage your senses. What do you notice? What do you hear, smell, feel, touch, taste, and sense?

The Center

Discover the labyrinth center.  Discover your center. What gifts of insight does the center have to offer? So you reach the center. You achieve your intention; you materialize what you are looking for, and what you originally set out for. Are you content? Are you satisfied? Are you looking for more, better, – different? Are you let down? Are you disappointed? Were you hoping it would be something else? Do you feel grounded? Centered? Are you at peace? How do you feel? After reaching the center, pause a moment in the center, and receive.

“Those who travel along too quickly often hurry past the center without noticing it.”

“The path to the center is never straight, but always clear.”

“You ask: What, then is the center? Everything.”

With an uncanny parallel to our process with intentions, embrace the symbolism, and any metaphors that drift through your journey. As you embark on this path, as you enter through, you change, shift and grow. Consciousness expands, perspectives changes, and awareness is heightened.

“The end of one path is simply the start of a new one.”

“After awhile I know neither how far I have to go, nor how far I’ve gone. I begin to concentrate on the path, not the destination.”

Exiting Out

Begin heading back out, and begin the releasing process. What’s coming up for you? It’s time to go and release, release expectations, and embark on a new journey.

When we get “there” or attract whatever it is we desire into our lives, it’s, “Oh, I manifested what I want, and in the same breath, perhaps you ask, “Is this really what I want? What do I want from this new point,” like in the intention arch. As you leave, and as you exit the labyrinth, you bring new insight, new info, and a refreshed viewpoint; a new perspective. Possibly you recognize some fears or other issues that were not present when you started initially. These are a few suggestions, exploratory questions, and intention approaches to ask yourself when walking a labyrinth. I’m hopeful you will discover your own labyrinth meanings, and find deep connections to your intentions, dreams and life as you apply your emerging wisdom. Labyrinths have infinite potential for application, and integration into  our individual life’s path. However you traverse your intentions, consider the perspectives and insights that labyrinths offer on your intentional path. May you be open to the wisdom of the labyrinth on your path of transformation. May the gifts and gems of knowing enhance the manifestation of your dreams!

“The labyrinth invites us to discover the beauty of the whole in all the confusion, imperfection and painfulness of life. It invites us to set out on the path with serenity and resolve. It invites us to strike out for the center and to find our way home.”

Envisioning Your Future – Vision boards 2.0

Vision boards were really popular and hit their peak in the 80s & 90s. They remain a helpful visualization tool even in the ubiquitous digital age. At women’s group gatherings, I often joke that the vision board is not just a thick piece of paper with some nice sounding phrases, and colorful images that live in “someday” land. Giving attention to what you want, and creating momentum in your life by aligning to your highest good, higher self, and soul – while paying attention to the next steps along your path is also important. Developing your awareness, honing your intuition, and paying attention to the signs and messages that show up for you toward realizing your intentions and dreams is just as powerful. The vision board becomes familiar and a reminder and helps you bridge from where you are, to what you are attracting.

Here’s how vision boards are described from another website: “A tool to help clarify, concentrate, and imagine your intentions and goals. Vision boards can identify your vision, and help you gain clarity. Reinforce your daily affirmations. Keep attention on intentions.” Source: http://asktheowlponysisters.tumblr.com/post/131942378458/what-are-vision-boards

Vision boards are a powerful visualization tool that integrates both hemispheres of the brain. Standard goal setting is a predominately left brain activity. Blending creativity, intent, and inspiration for action provides a positive launching point for attraction. You are stimulating your emotions, new desires, and aligning to possibilities throughout this process.

images-4.jpg

During the “envisioning your life” vision board theme in my groups, we clip and snip images, pictures, words, and phrases out of magazines that resonate with our intentions, and embrace opportunities for our imagined future. We find images that depict our dreams, invoke feelings, and capture our senses, and note what inspires us. Inspiration leads to excitement. Through this activity of following what inspires us, and drawing from a variety of images, and phrases we also focus on infusing appreciation energy with envisioning where we would like to create, shift, or attract positive change in our lives.

Appreciation is one of the highest vibrational states available to you. Merging appreciation with building an old school dream boards offers a magnetic match, and platform for your visions, and intentions. However, your dreams and intention work does not end with pasting images and inspirational quotes onto poster boards, or in a dream notebook. Merging the traditional vision board with the digital age, and accessing all the cool techy tools available enhances the envisioning experience, and brings it to a whole other integration level.

In the digital age of information, there are plentiful opportunities to create digitally based vision, and dream boards. If you create one online, you can save it for your screensaver on computer, or mobile device, so it is repeatedly in your “view” and becomes familiar so that new reality is activated in your mind.

There is abundance of free vision board apps, and free programs available. See the links below for links and ideas. There’s also an app called “Intention” and one that’s called “Intend” that’s easy to navigate and use. They both have alarm reminders for your intentions!

As you gather and organize images, photos, phrases, and dream board ideas – practice the feeling of appreciation for what you already have materialized in your life, and what you are thankful and grateful for. Continue to add to your vision board throughout the year. Place your vision board somewhere visible where you walk by each day or post it in your car if you are spending much time there. Place it where ever it will become top of consciousness, and use your vision board for a visualization tool to help imagine your way to your ideal life. Be creative, envision big, and follow your excitement, and live your inspired dream!

Applying “Trust the Process” to Intentions

trustprocess

It’s common on an intention journey to have others utter, “Trust the process.” That phrase is embedded in our supportive language. Kind, and helpful gesture, yes, but, “trusting the process” runs many layers deeper, holds more meaning, and reaches farther from my experience. Trusting the process, and trusting that your intention seeds will come into fruition is a sliver of the process. “Trust the process” also includes the trust you have in yourself, or the trust that you are working on within yourself while you navigate the process of allowing things to align. Trusting the process is also tied to surrendering to how your intentions will materialize and what it will “look like.” Trusting the larger vision, and broader picture for how it will be orchestrated, and woven together takes practice and patience.

“Trust the process” may also include:

(1)   Trusting yourself for knowing what you want and need, or trusting that through clarity, and insight, what you desire will be revealed to you when you are ready.

(2)   Trusting yourself to stay focused even when distractions present, or a different outcome shows up, or when you get discouraged and feel that something is not going to work out for you around your intention (doubt, fear, worry, panic, excuses, stress, what other people think and express).

(3)   Trusting that inner voice, your intuition, and the source in yourself that can step back and approach the intention from a broader sense.

(4)   Honoring the TRUST by creating a renewed relationship to trust yourself despite the past, what the reality is, or whether you are observing things from limited horse-blinder, narrow, or big picture viewpoint. Give a voice to the trust by using language that reflects it: “I believe it’s coming, without a doubt. It is, I AM…I trust it will all work out. It always works out for me. I am attracting this, or something better. I am creating from possibility, not from my limitations.”

(5) Trusting the process, and allowing whatever you are focusing on, and holding your vision for, to unfold in its own time, in its own way. Get out of the way! Let the process flow through you. Trust that the process is flowing, even if you are not noticing movement signs just yet.

Create an acrostic poem using the letters of TRUST. Design a word play, and a short mantra to illustrate your commitment to trusting yourself throughout your intention journey. Trusting the process is more than just a catch phrase, it is a way to move forward, and allow yourself, and your unique process, and path to effortlessly unfold.

Creating a Spiritual Practice / Intention / Wellness Ritual

images-10

What does creating an intention, wellness ritual, or spiritual practice mean to you?

For many, it may mean: This is my time to either receive insight or guidance from my divine self. Where I am going to take time for me, focus, be conscientious, mindful, and awareness on putting my intentions and my spiritual connection, and overall wellness on the forefront. This is when I breath. When I slow down. Be present. Where I live in the now. Nourish myself. Where I listen to that quiet voice. Tune in to my own frequency.

There are unlimited opportunities, and small gestures to open up this space for yourself. You may have some form of daily ritual, or spiritual type of practice that bring yourself back into alignment, and balance, so you can move forward, give your gifts, bring out your purpose, and learn more about yourself. A reset button time. Recalibration or personal check in time. This spiritual practice is another component to opening the space up to invite that higher self or source to come through you — to you, for you.

It’s about focus, and attention on what you want, and getting out of your way, with visualizing, dreaming, appreciation, and gratitude; all part of the process of getting vibrationally aligned with your desires. It’s about creating the time, inner-landscape, and ritual, so it becomes you; a new habit, and pattern of deliberating being, and creating your ideal life from an inspired place. Creating a practice is not just taking time out for self-care or being spiritual. It’s about creating a rhythm, space for consciousness, and a practice around it, shifting, and doing it! A shift-ritual! Create a “Shifttual”!

Here are some ways you can integrate a spiritual practice and a create a “shiftual” into your daily life:

Gratitude practice          Writing          Being in nature          Reading or writing poetry

Journaling          Meditation          De-cluttering          Napping          Walking meditation

Affirmations, mantras          Writing a handwritten letter to someone          Yoga practice

Complimenting someone          Breath work          Mudras with hands          Mindful moments

Gardening          Read, stretch, or walk at a specific time of day          Laughter

Tarot cards            Choosing a rune          Candle lighting          Bath time          Slowing down

Visiting your sacred space          Honoring others, small kindness gestures          Imagining

Music to inspire, as a way to connect, relax, etc.          Tea, coffee, drinking water

Having a spiritual practice helps you become more deeply connected to yourself, to your intentions, and dreams. Creating a spiritual practice is part of self-care. It’s one way to deliberately design your life to allow for your intentions, visions, and dreams to magnetize, and manifest. By taking little steps towards wellness, and integrating mindful rhythms and rituals within your day, over time you develop a seamless practice, and/or deepen one if your practice exists into your daily life.

Utilize your spiritual practice zone to inspire wellness, enhance personal development rituals, and one that compliments and fuels your intentions. Prioritize you, and your time. Implement strategies for yourself to help guide you towards success. Make the time, and establish a rhythm for yourself to create long-lasting changes. Honor yourself by gifting yourself this spiritual practice time regardless if it’s 5 minutes or 5 hours. Remember to begin, or maintain your spiritual practice, and embed daily rituals as part of your daily practice. This can be combined as an intention tool, and be part of your personal spiritual development even when you are busy.

Creating time is equally as important as creating the sacred space we explore with intentions. Make “when” part of the ritual & practice too – not just what you do, but when you do it.

Why create a spiritual practice / wellness ritual to connect to your intention path?

images-21* Creating a spiritual practice or intention ritual helps us create our amazing life.

* Routines are nourishing, and supportive to our intentions, nervous system, and life path.

* Provides a spiritual spine, positive habit framework, and foundation for your day. How you start your day, sets the tone for the entire day. Daily becomes weekly, monthly, yearly, etc.

* Your energy is powerful when your approach your day with consciousness

* A way to create a pattern to establish change, new thoughts, actions and behaviors. A rhythm is a catalyst for growth.

* The ritual is to replenish, and provide an opening for wisdom, for inspired action, to settle in, re-group, to keep vibration high, for a physical check in on body where stress may live, or you may feel uneasy, getting intuition and where you can acknowledge it.

* Rituals are grounding, empowering, and an anchor to a day that otherwise can blow away with the wind.

* Having a ritual becomes a fresh start and a way to release the previous day, past struggles, etc. How, with presence, bringing your full attention, and being deliberate can help shift circumstances and perspective.

* Creating rituals and a practice contributes to personal development and positivity.

* Rituals and routines a way to connect with your sacred self, and honor the source within.

* A way to raise your vibration by doing something joyful, peaceful, calming, and harmonious.

For many of us, our life, and how we live our life becomes the spiritual practice. Having a cup of coffee, walking the dog, retrieving the newspaper or mail from the box, and adding meaning to a repetitive task, or offering consciousness to an otherwise mundane situation can also be a spiritual experience.  You don’t necessarily need to park your fanny on a mountaintop to meditate. And it doesn’t necessarily mean you need to meditate on a cushion, sit at your alter or do a yoga pose, but if you are inspired to, and that works for you, wonderful! As you spiritually grow, and develop your spiritual practice may shift, and look different than you previously envisioned. Seek pleasure, enjoyment, presence, and inspiration with your spiritual practice. Develop and customize your own spiritual, wellness, or intention rituals that fit for you, your path, and personal growth.

How would your life positively change if you incorporated a spiritual practice moving forward – with diligence, persistence, mindfulness, dedication, and joy? Positively infuse your day with high-vibrational, uplifting rituals within your practice to support your wellness, and intentional path to your dreams.

The Vibe of Appreciation

Appreciation is one of the highest frequencies available to attract your desired life. When you are in an appreciative state, you are full of gratitude for what you already have in your life, and you open yourself up to receive. Appreciation is in the same vibrational family as love, bliss, empowerment, and joy. The word appreciate means to “recognize the full worth of and be grateful for.” You are not emanating lack with appreciation, but rather broadcasting wholeness, and fullness.

Magnetizing your dreams from a high vibrational state of appreciation is a fantastic tool for being in resonance with what you desire.  Appreciation is a feeling state that assists you with being grateful now, and raises your vibration in the present moment. When setting intentions in this appreciative state, it provides an energetic launchpad to your dreams already in motion.

Abraham-Hicks from their Ask and It’s Given book, on page 114, includes a list of “The Emotional Guidance Scale” to help clarify, and define where you may range with your emotions with respect to alignment, and how those emotions on the scale show up vibrationally in the non-physical realm.

emotionalscale spiral

Where we are asking from in terms of our emotional state influences our point of attraction, whether we are in a state of appreciation, bliss, joy, love, and empowerment, or if we are feeling despair, depressed, or anger. Your emotional state is another area to be conscious of when declaring your intentions whether verbally or in thought. Staying in a positive upward stream offers momentum for what we desire, create, and attract in our lives. Using this Emotional Guidance Scale, one approach is to choose the next best emotional state you can from where you are currently at.

Recognizing where you are at, feeling that state, moving through it in your own time, getting help from others, and professionals as needed, and having awareness of how you are experiencing the varied emotions within the scale can be helpful in shifting out of feeling stuck, paralyzed, or where you may feel resistance. You have your preferred emotional states, and interpretations for what each emotional state means for you. The goal is to raise your vibration by feeling good to become a more resonant match to what you desire.

Here is a simple exercise to help create the vibe of appreciation. On one side of a sheet of paper, begin with, “I am appreciating” or “I appreciate” — for what you are appreciating in your life generally, and with textured, multi-sensory details. For the other side of your paper, list what you appreciate about yourself. Appreciating yourself is another version of self-love. Appreciate yourself for not just for who you are, and what you do, but for also what you have overcome, faced, survived, lived through, and experienced. For your progress, improvements, and development on all those levels you consciously give attention to. Also acknowledge who you are on a broader lever, your unique essence, and appreciate the infinite beauty in that. What does truly appreciating yourself look like? In what ways do you appreciate yourself? How can you express that to your self in a way that is authentic for you? What does it feel like? Bring in all your senses and tap into that appreciative state.

More “appreciation” questions to explore:

What does giving appreciation look like? (to others)

How do you show you are appreciative?

When you are appreciative, how do you feel? What do you feel?

When you are appreciated by others, what do you feel within?

Throughout the month, give mindful focus to what you are already appreciative of, and to your answers to the questions above. Embody the feeling of appreciation, focus, and direct your intentions from this space. Consider viewing appreciation as a tool for you to come from an abundant “whole” and pure place, and not from lack with your intentions. It’s helpful, and effective when asking for what you want, to ask from this energetic place of appreciation where you are in alignment with all that is possible, and available to you from the universal palate of possibilities.

So as you embrace the new year, clarify your intentions, and envision your ideal life, consider accessing a state of appreciation. By feeling appreciative, and expressing appreciation as a method to connect to, and magnetize your intentions, you’ll align to a higher vibrational state. Be the the vibe of appreciation!
